The Lauderdale County Emergency Communications Center is the primary Public Service Answering Point (PSAP) for all emergency and non-emergency requests for police, fires, and emergency medical assistance in the City of Meridian, and in Lauderdale County as a whole. 911 calls for assistance are answered by a staff of highly-trained Communications Dispatchers, from a “state of the art” Emergency Communications Center, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.  A centralized Dispatch Center, started in 2000, brings together City and County Dispatchers who route all 911 emergency calls to their proper destination.
